B Maiberger (Bee MY-bair-guh)

My name is B. My desire to understand the human condition through breath, movement, emotion and spirituality drives my explorations in everything I do. My artwork allows me to express energy, movement, and emotion through shapes, textures, and patterns. I have been expressing myself through art since the early 2000’s, working with oil pastels and acrylic paints on paper and canvas.

I approach my creations just like a dancer creates a new dance. I have a concept, follow different impulses, and challenge myself to explore the unknown until something unexpected occurs. The process involves turning my attention inward to listen to  what wants to arise. I like to become one with the creation through breath, movement, and curiosity by exploring colors, shapes, and textures to be explored until satisfaction. There is a sense of freedom in my mind and body by giving into the process of not knowing what will come next. I love the moment when I think I have made a “mistake” by staying with the process and finding ways to work through it until something mysterious takes over and leads to wonderful surprises. Without having to know what the finished creation will look like, I give into the mystery of the unknown allowing me to be in the present moment forgetting about life’s pains and struggles. I continue my process until the piece is like a new dance that has expression all on its own.

I now make art a daily practice where I experience a sense of peace and calm in a world that sometimes feels chaotic and out of control. When I fully allow myself to be immersed in this practice, I forget about ruminating in the past, or worried about the day-to-day stressors, or fear of the unknown. I am grateful for what I see and sense and do not take this for granted.

I now am taking my art in a new direction by creating products that people can enjoy daily. I am taking the original images from my creations and transferring them to different products and mediums such as wood, plastic, and canvas materials. These products are allowing more people to enjoy my art with the magic and mystery wherever they may go. 

I hope that my work touches your heart and imagination by inviting you to be bold in living life, brave in expressing love, and finding a way to just B.
